Description:

Upper Raw Deal is an extension of Lower Raw Deal. It is short with 5 or 6 good obstacles ending with an uphill water climb with several small ledges. Along the way several of the early obstacles offer a couple of different options - all of which are 4.0 - 4.5. This is a short trail which, along with Lower Raw Deal are easily done in 1/2 - 3/4 day, depending on the number of vehicles and how they are equipped. Some strapping or winching may be necessary.

How to Get There:
Proceed North from Phoenix via I-17. Exit the freeway at the Table Mesa Road turnoff (between New River and Black Canyon City). Turn west, crossing over the freeway, and then turn right onto the access road that parallels the freeway. Proceed 1.7 miles down the tar road, which shortly turns into gravel. The trail starts off the left side of the road, just before you get to the first "Y".
Upper - starts after you complete the lower portion of the river bed. Go straight at the Y. Left takes you back to the main road.
