From Gurley Street, Turn south on Mount Vernon (The Senator Hwy)
Stay on the Senator Hyw (FS 52) to Palace Station. Go straight past the old stage stop on Bodie Mine Road (FS 82). Stay on FS 82 until it intersects w/ FS 668 above Milk Creek. FS 668 intersects into FS 94C in the bottom of Milk Creek, turn right onto FS 94C. (If you've had enough fun, a left turn will take you out to Wagoner Rd.) The first interesting hill climb is out of Pole Camp Canyon. From this point on, the brush is really bad! FS 94C intersects into FS 667, turn right on FS 667. Stay on FS 667. There are several junctions, and the well traveled junction is onto FS 97B. DON'T TURN ONTO FS 97B! At this point, you should be able to see Riggle's Hill travelling up and over the ridge tops- this is the second challenging hill climb. At the top of Riggle's hill is an old mine- The Blue Dick Mine. It is on Private Property. At the intersection at the mine, turn right and up hill. (If you've had enough at this point, a right turn will take you down to 97B and back to maintained roads.) This section is moderately rough and fun! It will take you up and over to Maverick Ridge. The brush in this section is tight, but nothing compaired to the lower section. At the "Road Closed" sign, bear left around it and up the most challenging section of the trail! This hill is called Halford Hill. It is loose, steep, and has a nice little ledge on the left at the top. HAVE FUN! Cont. on up the hill to an itersection. A right turn will take you out to the Senator Hwy via the Golden Eagle Mine Rd (FS 52B), the other takes you to a dead end at the top of Mount Trittle. At the Jnt. of the Senator Hwy, a left turn takes you back to Prescott.
