Martinez Canyon is one of the most beautiful areas in the Pinal mountain area, and a 4-Wheeler's delight. Whether you're looking for a nice, scenic off-road experience, or a challenging day of desert rock-climbing, Martinez Canyon will be just the ticket!
The trail to Martinez Canyon is relatively easy, generally rated as a 2.5 - at least the trail to Martinez Cabin. Entering through Box Canyon can be a
little more difficult, especially for a stock vehicle. The Box Canyon trail is still generally rated as a 2.5. On the otherhand, the trail beyond Martinez Cabin, to the Martinez, Columbia and Silver Bell Mines, is extremely difficult, with a 4.5 rating. Only experienced drivers with locked differentials and adequate clearance should attempt to go beyond Martinez Cabin.

How to Get There:
From U.S. 60: Going east towards Superior, turn right (south) approximately 3 miles past Florence Junction (the turnoff to Florence) . Proceed down Mineral Mountain Road. The road will split- stay to the left proceeding towards Box Canyon. The road to the right takes you to Cottonwood Road, exiting at U.S. 89. Please note that there is a ranch on this road, and should you need to exit, please be respectful to owners of this private property. You will cross a creek bed, and their will be roads leading off to the left and to the right. Stay on the main road, which proceeds south up over the hills.he trail to left goes to Woodpecker & Ajax Mines Over the hill Roads to right go to other mines. Past Sunset Mine. the road will split. Go to the left to Martinez Canyon and the Coke Ovens; To the right (or straight) takes you into Box Canyon. There is a yellow street sign to the left at this turn, which will verify your position at this point
Pass two windmills. turn to the left, proceeding northeast to Martinez Cabin. The road to the right (east) takes you to the Coke Ovens
