Location: Tucson
Trail Rating: 3.5+

Description:
Chivo Falls is a great run in the Reddington Pass area East of Tucson. Though the Falls are rarely running (or falling) the area is beautiful and the trail offers many challenges with many bypasses. One obstacle, Three Feathers, is one of AZ's favorite "play" areas. The "Chute" offers a 4.0 challenge for the daring. The trail is rocky in places but overall it is passable in a very capable stock vehicle with large tires and high clearance. Be a little careful the last 1/4 mile to the Falls as the trail gets tippy in spots. At the turn around at the end, also take caution with a short wheel base vehicle as Jeeps have rolled here before. It's easy however to park and walk the last 1/4 mile to see the falls. You can return the way you came or exit via the Italian Trap run which offers some mild to medium rock crawling.

Remember to Tread lightly!

How to Get There:
Take Tanque Verde Road East to Reddington Road. Head up the mountain about 5-6 miles to the parking area by the cattle guards. There is a corral on the opposite side of the road. >From the parking lot the trail starts downhill ASAP. Or, you can start on the "bypass road" to the right of the lot as it skips that first rocky section. This "road" regains the main trail at the top of Three Feathers.
